Hull Social Leadership Programme

The Hull Social Leadership Programme is due to start in 2018 and will run throughout the year. It is our first place-based leadership initiative and is supported by the Big Lottery Fund, The Rank Foundation and Arts Council England.

In working with large numbers of local partners and social leaders in Hull and East Riding of Yorkshire, we hope to transform the local social sector by building on the success of the Hull Community Development Project and Hull’s status as the UK City of Culture in 2017.

Who is the Hull Social Leadership Programme for?

The programme is for social and cultural leaders in Hull and East Riding of Yorkshire who want to learn and develop the leadership skills, behaviours and attributes to maximise regional opportunities, while effectively navigating their organisations through potential challenges.

This programme is aimed at established, emerging and new social and cultural leaders, as well as trustees. They can be from charities, social enterprises, community businesses and arts organisations based in the area.

How is the programme designed?

Central to our place-based approach is understanding the context that social leaders in Hull and East Riding of Yorkshire operate in. With this in mind, this programme is being designed and tested with local partners to ensure it is focused on understanding and working with community-wide needs.

In the autumn we will conduct a detailed assessment of the capabilities and needs of the leaders in the area, and the findings of this assessment will go on to inform the programme’s design and development.

We’ll be announcing more information about the Hull Social Leadership Programme in the near future. To receive updates as the programme develops, sign up to our Hull mailing list here.
