Stuart Dexter is the Chief Executive of Daisy Chain, a charity supporting families affected by autism. Daisy Chain works with over 1800 families a year and is based on a 5.5 ascre farm in Norton, Stockton-on-Tees.
Prior to this he was CEO of mental health charity, Tyneside & Northumberland Mind, joining the organisation in 2010 when it was Mind in Gateshead. During his time at Mind the organisation expanded its area of operation from one local authority area to five, tripling the size of the organisation and increasing the people it helped to over 1500 a year.
In his mid-20s Stuart became Youth & Community Worker, achieving a first class degree in Informal and Community Education at YMCA George Williams College. Much of Stuart’s work in London was with young people excluded from school.
In 2001 Stuart relocated to the north east of England where his roles have included Community Development, Adult Education, Youth Work and working for an Environmental Charity.
Throughout all of his roles Stuart has been driven by his values and belief that everyone deserves to live a full and fulfilling life, whatever challenges they may face. In his spare time, he pursues his passion for music.
