Rebecca is an experienced policy and campaigns professional with particular expertise in gender equality and women’s rights in the UK. Over the past 18 years, Rebecca has worked in charities, NGOs, trade unions as well as central and local Government.
Rebecca has used her campaigning, networking and communication skills to build partnerships and influence and change public policy around equality and diversity. Rebecca’s experience has given her clear insight into where power lies, how decisions are made and how social change can be created and sustained in the UK.
Until June 2015 Rebecca was Director of Policy, Campaigns and Communications at Young Women’s Trust. She was responsible for delivering campaigns, influencing public policy and leading public relations and media activity as well as overseeing two major restructures and an organisational rebrand.
Throughout her career Rebecca has consistently worked to bring marginalised voices and experiences into the mainstream. She has extensive expertise in ensuring that those with lived experience have a voice in creating and influencing changes to legislation and public policy in the UK.
In the last five years, Rebecca has sought to set an example of how women can balance leadership roles with motherhood. Rebecca describes herself as a lifelong feminist. She lives in London with her partner and two young sons.
