Ruth has over 20 years of international business and not-for-profit expertise. She currently works with Executive Management teams and Boards across strategy, organisational change and development, international growth, finance, and impact measurement and reporting. She also provides mentoring and coaching to individuals and teams.
Ruth is particularly motivated by social enterprise. She is a Trustee and Treasurer of UnLtd, the Foundation for Social Entrepreneurs, custodian of a £130 million government endowment fund. She recently served as Interim Chief Financial Officer of SolarAid, a UK charity focused on improving energy access in Africa through its subsidiary social enterprise, SunnyMoney. Ruth has also worked with Nesta, the UK innovation charity, international media development organisation Internews and INCLUDED, a Beijing-based charity working with migrants living in slums. She has also served as a Trustee of INCLUDED UK.
Ruth was formerly a partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), the leading business services and accountancy firm. She lived and worked in China for nine years, from 2001 to 2010, where she specialised in cross-border corporate mergers and acquisitions. She also established and led PwC's China Sustainability and Climate Change consultancy and co-led the China Greentech Initiative, a collaborative start-up focussed on accelerating the growth of clean technology in China.
She is a Chartered Accountant and recently completed her studies for a Masters in Poverty Reduction.
