You will emerge with a powerful peer network of changemakers ready to take on today's digital challenges.
Live Classrooms
You will get access to two Live Classrooms, taking place at set dates and times you will be informed of in advance.
Here you'll come together with your peers and a facilitator to discuss, debate, and reflect on your learning.
Fitting your schedule
The programme will take place exclusively online over the span of five weeks.
It is designed to fit around and complement your day-to-day work and will require an approximate time commitment of 2-4 hours per week.
Throughout the course, you will reflect on yourself and the sector, assess your development needs, understand the ethical principles of digital transformation, design a digital strategy, and set up a digital leadership plan for the future.
This will enable you to approach digital challenges head-on with greater perspective, confidence, and self-awareness.

Keen to develop
Your determination to develop your digital skills and leadership so you can lead social change effectively is key to getting the most out of this course.
The course is based on our Leadership Development Model (below), our unique approach to leadership development gathered from ten years of working with leading coaches and trainers in the field.
Using this model, you will learn how and what these skills and behaviours look like in action, where your strengths and areas of improvement lie, and how you can develop and encourage them in yourselves and
others.
Leadership development must start with self-awareness. The most successful leaders critically assess their strengths, weaknesses, motivations and values. Leadership is tough, so it is also important to build physical and
emotional resilience, and look after their own wellbeing so they can respond effectively to leadership challenges.

Social sector ‘systems’ are rapidly changing. We live in a dynamic world that is transforming our workplaces, politics, ethics and communities. To meet these demands, social leaders need to understand the complexities of
changing systems. They must also be aware of the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead to steer their teams and organisations, and make the most of what these changes offer.

No leader exists or succeeds in isolation. Social skills and empathy are required to inspire, motivate and empower others, whilst respecting diversity and celebrating the power that difference brings. Working with and through
others involves collaborating, forming partnerships, as well as inspiring and growing other leaders, all while making a positive social impact.

Week one
Digital diagnostic
Week one will ask How digital are you?
With a comprehensive digital diagnostic, you will learn to accurately assess your digital strengths, weaknesses, and areas of improvement so you can successfully combat the fear of digital leadership.
Week two
Assessing the digital landscape
Week two focuses on the opportunities and challenges of today's digital context.
You will learn about big data, the ethical principles of digital transformation, user experience (UX), and more, so you make the most of what’s out there.
Week three
Your organisation
Week three will be looking at your organisation's digital maturity.
Topics will address the digital work crisis, digital maturity not digital transformation. By the end of the week, you will have developed a digital action plan designed to take your organisation in the right direction.
Week four
Working with others digitally
Week four will be looking at tools for managing teams remotely.
None of us exist or succeed in isolation. You will understand how to successfully translate your interpersonal leadership skills into a digital setting.
Week five
Take action
Week five helps you ensure you're heading in the right direction.
You will consolidate the learning from the last four weeks and chart the next steps in your organisation's digital journey, by creating a clear, actionable digital strategy.
Monday
At the beginning of the week you will be introduced to the week's content. You will receive a practical task to finish by the end of the week.
Thursday
Finish the practical task and receive a reflective writing task, designed to help you become familiarised with employing self-reflection techniques.
Sunday
You have until Sunday to consolidate the week's learning into a reflective writing task. Tasks won't be assessed, but we recommend completing them to solidify learning.
Live Classrooms
During the programme there are two online Live Classrooms (first and third Tuesdays during the course timeframe) where you and your cohort will discuss the issues you've been working on.
This course can be relevant and valuable for participants with all levels of experience, however, it is highly recommended for experienced leaders (those with over six years' experience paid or voluntary, leading teams, volunteers,
or projects) of small charities.
It’s different from person to person but we suggest allocating two-four hours a week. As with most things, the more participants immerse themselves in the programme, the more they'll get out of it.
Yes. The course is designed to be flexible to your schedules. The course will require you to spend two-four hours per week.
