a leader, where your strengths lie and how you might develop going forwards. You’ll get the opportunity to reflect on your own experiences and skills and contextualise them using a variety of accessible tools and techniques.

The course learning will be guided by Clore Social Leadership’s Social Capabilites Framework and Leadership Development Model (both below). Using our Social Capabilities Framework you will be guided to develop inspirational, empowering,
courageous, focused, passionate and generous leadership capabilities - qualities essential to any effective leader.
You will learn how and what these skills and behaviours look like in action, where your strengths and areas of improvement lie, and how you can develop and encourage them in yourselves and others.
Leadership development must start with self-awareness. The most successful leaders critically assess their strengths, weaknesses, motivations and values. Leadership is tough, so it is also important to build physical and
emotional resilience, and look after their own wellbeing so they can respond effectively to leadership challenges.

Week one
Coach vs Leader
Explaining coach as coach vs. leader as coach and the important differences. This week acts as an introduction to the course, and includes activities to get participants thinking about the differences between coaching, management,
and leadership.
Week two
How to make a difference
Analyse how a coaching approach can solve real challenges we all face. This week includes a live class discussing how real coaching can make a difference, including in-depth case studies and examples.
Week three
Empowering enabler
What is an empowering enabler? This week, participants will be asked to complete a self-assesment and think of a bad managerial experience they've experienced. The live classroom will feature case studies and open group discussion.
Week four
Take Action
Week four consolidates the learning from the last three weeks and helps you chart the next steps in your leadership development. This final week you will gather your insights and create an actionable Leadership Development Plan to
help you continue your leadership journey.
The journey
Designed to fit around and complement your day-to-day work, the course is structured over four weeks, each week containing a practical and reflective task for you to complete before the end of the week, focusing on a core component
of social leadership.
Tasks
Tasks won't be assessed, but we strongly recommend completing them to solidify learning.
Time commitment
To get the most out of your learning, we recommend allocating around 2-4 hours a week on the course and interacting with your peers on the course as much as possible!
Live Classrooms (online)
During the course there is one welcome classroom, three live seminars (Thursdays, 12:30 - 13:30 GMT) where you and your cohort will discuss the issues you've been working on, and a further networking opportunity.
This course is for anyone who wants to develop themselves as social leaders. Past participants in on our courses have included charity leaders, public sector employees, social entrepreneurs, team leaders, consultants, students
and more. The main criteria is a curiosity for and willingness to reflect and apply new tools and learning.
It’s different from person to person but we suggest allocating 2-4 hours a week on Discover. As with most things, the more you immerse yourself in the course, the more you’ll get out of it.
