The three-week Diversity, Equity & Inclusion: Leading through Transformation online course will provide a quick way to understand DEI, why it's important to all organisations, and how to implement it.
This is for established leaders who have a very limited understanding, and who do not have much time to learn all the details. Leaders who want to place DEI at the heart of their organisation.

This course is best suited to those in a Director or C-Level role looking to instill a new DEI strategy within the organisation.

Week one
Understanding diversity, equity and inclusion
Understanding the essential components of DEI in the workplace (definitions / benefits) - there will be optional resources for those who want to dig deeper into the topic.
Week two
Your organisation
Reflect on the situation within your own organisation and identify your current DEI gaps, and where your strengths, weaknesses, obstacles and barriers lie.
Week three
Taking action!
Apply your learnings and create a DEI policy. Learn how to consistently monitor and innovate with the policy going forward.
This course is not for leaders who just want to learn about diversity, equity and inclusion, but for those who want to apply practical policies to their organisation.

professional experience through her company Bridge Network Group which focuses on boosting representation in organisations. Additionally, as a passionate gamer and content creator on the streaming platform Twitch, Mikayla is on a mission
to build a community of Black Women and future changemakers in the video game industry.
Mikayla has a wealth of experience in supporting young and diverse talent to reach positions of influence and leadership. Mikayla is in the 2019 cohort of Birmingham Live’s 30 under 30 in recognition of her work with young people in the
city. She also has experience with MAIA Group, TAG Network West Midlands, Amplify DEI, The British Council, UpRising Leadership West Midlands Combined Authority, Ultra Education, University of Birmingham, Enrol Yourself: The Learning
Marathon, West Midlands Women's Voice, and iDNetwork. Mikayla is a confident public speaker and in 2018 spoke at the Women of the World Festival in Brazil.
The journey
Designed to fit around and complement your those with a busy schedule, the course is structured over three weeks, each week containing a practical and reflective task for you to complete before the end of the week, focusing on a core
component of social leadership.
Tasks
Tasks won't be assessed, but we strongly recommend completing them to solidify learning.
Time commitment
To get the most out of your learning, we recommend allocating around 1-2 hours a week on the course and interacting with your peers on the course as much as possible!
Live Classrooms
During the course, there will be an online Live Classrooms (second Wednesday, 12:30 - 13:30 BST) where you and your cohort will discuss the issues you've been working on.
The course is best suited to senior management team within a social sector organisation. Those looking not just to understand diversity, equity and inclusion, but to implement it at their organisation.
It’s different from person to person but we suggest allocating 1-2 hours a week to this course. As with most things, the more you immerse yourself in the course, the more you’ll get out of it. There will be an hour-long, online
classroom taking place during the second week.
Yes. The course is designed to be flexible to your schedules. The course will require you to spend 2-4 hours per week.
