Finance for Non-Finance Professionals: Trustees

Trustees hold many responsibilities, but are often specialists in specific areas. Finance isn’t always something everyone is comfortable with, but all trustees have a shared responsibility and should not rely on those who might have specialist knowledge. It is ok, as a Trustee, to ask any question, no matter how stupid you may think it is. No doubt, someone else will be thinking the same as you. This webinar, hosted by Joanne Jones, Director of Finance and Resources at the Wales Cooperative Centre, will help bridge the gap in knowledge and help you understand a bit more about finance. It will also help you understand what is expected of you as a trustee relating to:

  • Back to basics- Understanding income and expenditure
  • Budgetary management and controls
  • Governance responsibilities associated with finance and internal controls, along with risk management and assurances

The session is for Trustees at all levels who are involved with a charity, community trust or CIC based and/or operating in Wales and who would like to feel more confident contributing to and making financial decisions in this role. Please feel free to share this link with a colleague you think will benefit from the session.
