Gain self awareness!

Leadership development must start with self-awareness. Understanding yourself is key to understanding others, and therefore to generous leadership behaviours. The most successful leaders critically assess and understand their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, barriers, motivations, and values.

Step 1


Have a look at our Social Leadership capabilities framework. What are your Opportunities in these areas? What Barriers might stand in the way of strengthening these weaknesses or seizing new opportunities?

Empowering Enabler

Empowers others to take on new challenges and training. Acts as a role model to others, pursues continuous self-development and cultivates an environment where others can excel

Set a timer for 10 minutes, and use the capability framework to answer the questions below with whatever comes to mind.
 

Step 3


Have a look at your SWOB analysis, you should receive an email in a few moments. Where do your strengths lie? Which areas do you need to focus on?

Step 4


Using your SWOB, create three action points. These should be a mixture of how you plan to capitalise on the opportunities presented and how you will overcome the barriers that have arisen

Once you have completed these action points, you should check in on a monthly basis to measure progress.
