Sir Ciarán Devane has been announced as the new Chair of Clore Social Leadership. He takes up his appointment this month, succeeding John Kampfner, Chief Executive of the Creative Industries Federation who has been chair since January 2015. Sir Ciarán is Chief Executive of the British Council and brings a wide range of experience to Clore Social Leadership. Previously, he was Chief Executive of Macmillan Cancer Support from where he transformed the scale and impact of the charity, raising its profile as an authoritative voice on cancer and on health matters. In 2015 he was awarded a knighthood for services to cancer patients.
